OUR HISTORY

The Peter J Mulry Foundation “STARS OF THE FUTURE” Literacy and Mentoring Program went into full swing in 2021. After a successful Pre-Covid Pilot program in 2019, we launched last September at two Tampa elementary schools (one titled and one non titled). We now have over 50 volunteer mentors that will be working with kids Pre-K through 5th grade.

Each month the kids will meet one on one with their assigned mentor and discuss one new life skills featured in our book series “THREADS AND FRIENDS”. This program is in part the evolution of our very successful STARS OF THE FUTURE – LIFE SKILLS THROUGH SPORTS program that we run each January for over 20 years. This new program was created to teach the core values and life skills so badly needed by many of our young children in this community.

If you are interested in getting involved in this program please contact mentors@peterjmulryfoundation.org.
